Overview

This course helps project managers and accounting professionals increase financial fluency to better understand project profitability. Through a hands-on case study, participants will explore Work in Progress (WIP) calculations, billing practices, and their direct impact on a company’s financial health.

  • Understand how PM decisions affect income statements and balance sheets.

  • Identify the effects of underbilling and overbilling.

  • Learn WIP’s impact on cash flow and profit margins.

  • Explore percentage of completion accounting.

David Ashcraft is a partner at Advantage Learning Systems, a private consulting and training organization based in Seattle, WA. Specializing in building and delivering customized training for clients, Ashcraft’s expertise is translating complex content into practical and easy-to-understand programs for construction professionals at all levels. He specializes in leadership, sales, presentations, financial management, and customer service. He earned his BA at Washington State University and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School, where he later served as an Associate Director.
